Devon wedding suppliers working together for a greener future.
I have teamed up with a group of South West wedding suppliers passionate about saving our planet! We bring you a bohemian styled shoot to prove that when it comes to eco weddings it doesn't mean you have to sacrifice on style.
Our eco wedding venue : We held the shoot at Higher Holcombe in Ottery St Mary, based on their core principles of being a 'Green' wedding venue. Jo and her team have planted over 7000 trees since the venue opened to the public and plan to plant a further 2-3 acres this winter. The grounds also offer a unique, thriving wild flower meadow to brides so they can pick their own bouquets.
Beautiful furniture from home : Such a fantastic idea to transform this antique desk into a stunning sweet and dessert table. We styled ours with reusable glass jars for or sweets and a few wild flowers from the meadow for finishing touches but the possibilities behind this thought really are endless.
Wooden crates : Again I'm a huge lover of creates for the rustic vibe! We turned ours into a cake stand complimented with a few lowers. They can also be used as stands for garden games, childrens tables a storage box to store your wedding gifts, blanket boxes and memorie corners.
Traditional garden games: I love the idea of using old horseshoes and upcycled tins for garden games, take them home after your wedding and bring them out every summer to relive your wonderful memories and enjoy them time and time again.
Fabric napkins: To help cut back on waste to the environment we dressed our plates with cloth. There are many beautiful ways to fold and display napkins and I think it brings back a little class to the dinner table.
Solid wooden dining furniture complemented with seated Macrame to match the decor styling.
Styling: We used a stunning, handmade macrame backdrop attached to a simple branch supported by a DIY copper frame. The flowers added really complemented the scene and gave it a real wow factor,
Crowns & Tiaras: I'm sold on this idea, from this day forward every bride should wear a crown on her wedding day and pass it down to her daughter/ daughter in law on the day of her wedding.
The dress: Our elegant lace and pearl detailed dress was also up-cycled use from Monsoon.
We hope that helps with a few alternative ideas to be a little greener with the added wow factor. You can check out the full publication of this styled shoot published in Whimsical Wonderland Weddings - https://whimsicalwonderlandweddings.com/eco-friendly-wedding-inspiration
